Site Council
Hood River County School District site councils actively participate in the school's educational improvement efforts. The goals of our school council are to develop plans for staff development, improve the instructional program, develop and coordinate the School Improvement Plan and administer staff development grants. Mid Valley's site council is composed of three teachers, one classified staff representative, three parents and the school principal. All meetings are open to the public and are held in the Library at Mid Valley.
The Hood River County School Board recognizes the value of community involvement in certain aspects of decision making. Each local school has an elected committee that serves as an extension and sounding board to the school board of directors and the administration. The committees serve four functions:
| To determine the use of school property for civic purposes. | |
| To visit the school at frequent intervals. | |
| To advise the school board and the superintendent concerning the progress and needs of the school and the wishes of the people concerning the school. | |
| To recommend improvements in the school property. |
The Mid Valley Elementary School's Local Committee meets each month.
The Mid Valley PTO has been highly involved in improving our school. All parents are encouraged to become members and actively participate. Meetings are scheduled every other month in the school library and will be advertised in the Cougar Weekly.
Right now we are in the process of introducing Rosauers scrip sales in the from lobby on Thursday morning. You can purchase scrip in $5 and $20 amounts. Five percent of all proceeds go to Mid Valley. Also sign up for escrip at www.escrip.com . It is easiest to go to 97044 (Mid Valley zip code) to find our school. This is an automatic deposit to the MId Valley account every time you shop at participating stores.
