The White Salmon Valley School District has a long tradition of seeking the best person for any open position. Openings for certificated faculty positions are widely advertised and applications regularly arrive from throughout the western states. With every new opening, whether certificated or classified, comes an opportunity to improve our overall educational program, offering a possibility to restructure for more meaning, efficiency of effort, and effectiveness as it relates to children.

In addition to curriculum expertise and experience, applicants are considered with regard to high moral and ethical standards, enthusiasm for the profession, and desire to work with the entire community to make the district even stronger.

The district's current faculty reflects the district's commitment to building a strong teaching staff to implement its educationally sound curriculum. Our current faculty averages 15 years teaching experience, and over 80% hold master's degrees.

Pay is according to the district extra-curricular stipend schedule. Henkle Middle School 5/6th grade paraeducator
Henkle Middle School has a 7.5 hour per day paraeducator position available. Work with 5 th /6 th grade students focusing on reading and mathematics skills. This is a nine month position beginning in the 2008-09 school year. Applicant must meet the NCLB highly qualified requirements. Henkle Middle School Project Open Door 7/8 Grade Case Manager  
MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE LIVES OF KIDS. The 7/8 Grade Case Manager will work with teachers, selected students, and families to help students be successful both during the regular school day and in the after school program. Strengthening student study, personal planning and organizational skills, implementing family inclusion strategies, as well as providing direct academic assistance are key components of this position. Bilingual skills are not required, but are a plus. Art Consortium Coordinator
This position is funded for one year through a grant awarded the White Salmon Valley School District by the Washington State Arts Council. The district and the White Salmon Valley Education Foundation may write a new grant for this position in subsequent years, but receiving funding for after the 2008-09 school year may or may not occur.
