Position

The White Salmon Valley School district is looking for an outstanding, high energy, high school mathematics teacher. The assignment at Columbia High School could include: Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, and/or Segmented Math classes. The classroom teacher will create a program and class environment favorable to learning and personal growth of students, which facilitates student success in academic and interpersonal skills through district approved curriculum.

Duties at the WSA include:

• Valid Washington state teaching certificate secondary mathematics endorsement, or out-of-state mathematics teaching certificate transferable to Washington
• Bachelor's degree with a major in mathematics with computer background knowledge.
• Knowledge of current trends in the teaching of mathematics and computer technology.
• Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
• Knowledge of various instructional strategies.
• Demonstrated evidence of effective classroom management skills.
• Recent training in instructional theory/methodology is desired.
• Coaching positions in Boys' Basketball, Football, and Wresting are available
